Jenny Schiff (she/her)
Greetings! My name is Jenny, and I am a Master of Social Work student at Northern Arizona University in my specialization year. Through my own lived experience, I sincerely believe in the tenacity of the human spirit and our ability to create meaning from our past in ways that build resilience for the future. With support, reflection, and intentional processing, meaningful and lasting change is entirely possible.
I bring warmth, curiosity, genuineness, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience into the therapeutic space. I believe that healing unfolds best when safety and trust are prioritized, allowing space for vulnerability, reflection, and meaningful connection; with ourselves, with others, and with the natural world around us. While I am lighthearted by nature, I tailor my approach to each client and value learning what the best support looks like for you as an individual.
I identify as queer and neurodivergent, and I value working alongside clients who are seeking an affirming, identity-aware therapeutic relationship grounded in authenticity and curiosity. My approach is strengths-based, client-centered, and collaborative, with an emphasis on meeting you wherever you are in your journey; whether you are navigating identity exploration, stress, crisis, anxiety, grief, or life transitions. I take a holistic view of each client’s life, exploring ways to cultivate supportive environments and tools that foster growth, resilience, and self-understanding through life’s challenges.
With a background in crisis intervention, school-based special education support, and community health education, I bring a trauma-informed lens to my work and incorporate harm-reduction principles when appropriate. I also enjoy integrating mindfulness, gratitude, art, play, and music into sessions, drawing from a variety of modalities to best support each client’s unique needs.
Outside of the therapeutic space, I find restoration, confidence, and grounding through time outdoors. I run ultramarathons, an experience that has deepened my respect for patience, commitment, and the inner work required for growth. I also find healing in gardening, cooking, reading, spending time with loved ones, and caring for my two cats.
I’d love to work with you!
